Autism…What we know now!

Hello,

Here is a video of a program that was organized by Mary James, Racing for Autism, to help get the word out on the current issues related to Autism. I was on a panel with Drs Sally Ozonoff and Irva Hertz-Piccotto from the UCDavis M.I.N.D. Institute. We touched on the recent report of the increased prevalence of autism, the possible causes, how to prevent it, how to detect it early and to provide the required treatment through the regional centers and/or school districts. Additional information can be found on our website, www.ddpgcares.com, the M.I.N.D. Institute website, www.mindintstitute.org, and by contacting the First Steps Infant Program or Alta California Regional Center. Let me know what you think of the video.

Thanks, Dr. Steve

Sebastian Seung: A Neuroscientist Reverse-Engineering The Brain : NPR

Connectome!

I heard this as I was driving to a meeting to discuss our plans to bring universal developmental and socio-emotional screening to the children in Yolo County. The interview touches on many of the points that I preach about early intervention! I hope that you enjoy the discussion and let me know if you read the book. I would love your feedback.

Pretty helpful connections!
